The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. “Creek” is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In “Broadcast,” fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. “Chinatown” is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. “Killhouse” features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.

Opinion: Army of Two (Multiplayer Region Lockout)

So, Army of Two is getting some mixed reviews, not unexpected for an EA game! :)

One thing that I found out recently was that to play multiplayer co-op you can only play with someone in your region.

I hope that that isn’t the future of online gaming because it doesn’t really fit in with the Xbox Live service for games like Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4.

This is a quote from Senior Producer Reed Schneider:

“The game works on a deterministic or peer-to-peer network setting,” Reed explained. “Because we have all these synchronized animations and the players are always doing things together, the only way to support that kind of model right now is to use a deterministic model for networking.”

“If you’re playing with someone in co-op, generally you’re playing with a friend, so it’s not so much of a problem to have a non-region locked game, but the problem comes when you go into vs. mode. Unlike client server, in a peer-to-peer or deterministic model, the person with the worst connection brings everyone else down to their level. So you could have three people playing with a good connection and one person with a bad connection in another continent, and everyone is brought down to his level.”

An Open Letter To Disney Regarding Blu-ray

Hi,

I live in the UK and I purchased Cars and Ratatouille on Blu-ray. The movies are excellent and the picture quality in HD is superb (they are the best blu-ray discs I have seen so far!) but I have a problem!

When I loaded the disc I was presented with advert after advert and I think this is ridiculous! This is a purchased movie not a rental movie!

Another thing, I do not want to see the Disney or Pixar corporate logo videos more than once when I play a movie, I must have seen them about 5 or 6 times!

I am told if I watch a Disney/Pixar movie on iTunes in the USA it will play with no adverts, why should blu-ray owners get adverts for paying more money!

I would ask that you get your executives to test your discs at home before releasing them to the consumers.

I hope you can help me to buy more Disney Blu-ray titles.

Thank you
